"Renew ELP – bringing end of life plastic into the circular economy" by Andrew Buchanan, Business Development Manager, Renew ELP Ltd detailed the challenge to deal with waste plastic. A new process has been developed which chemically breaks down waste plastics into a range of petrochemical products including Naphtha, a feedstock for new plastic production, and diesel.  This is more sustainable than using plastic for energy from waste plants, or mechanical recycleing methods.  A plant using this technology is to be built at Wilton, and construction should start "soon"!
