Lecture : Life Cycle Assessment as a basis for Sustainability Thinking

6 Mar 2019
Middlesbrough, Cleveland

On Wednesday 6th March at 5pm (after the Young Persons' Lecture Heat) Louis Brimacombe will talk about "Life Cycle Assessment as a basis for Sustainability Thinking".  This will be at the STEM Centre, Middlesbrough College, Dock St, Middlesbrough TS2 1AD.

With the emergence of sustainability as a key topic and challenge for all materials and industries, the steel industry initially reflected upon the environmental impact of processes and sites, and this appeared to present more of a threat than an opportunity. As the industry realised the bigger picture in terms of steel products in society, the sustainability of steel becomes much more recognisable. Life Cycle Assessment is one of the tools that has helped to articulate these benefits and to realise the social value contribution of steel.

A poster is downloadable below, and if you can circulate this further, or print and display it, that would be much appreciated.
