Mark Miodownik announced as the first plenary speaker for PVC 2020

Mark Miodownik MBE FREng FIMMM, a Materials Engineer and Professor of Materials and Society at University College London, UK, has been announced as the first keynote speaker for PVC 2020 taking place in Edinburgh on 20–23 April.

IRC2019 comes to London

IOM3 hosted the International Rubber Conference (IRC) on 3–5 September at the Kia Oval in London on behalf of the International Rubber Conference Organisation. The event was held across three days with a packed programme of more than 150 oral presentation, 60+ poster presentations, 50 exhibitors and 600 registered delegates from 37 countries. Of particular note was the calibre of the large number of 60 students who presented their work during the event.

IOM3 members feature in the Top 100 Historical Women in Engineering list

On 18 September, Magnificent Women released a list of 100 women engineers from history as part of a project to celebrate the achievements of women in engineering over the past 100 years and IOM3 is pleased to see eight women members of IOM3 and its predecessor organisations featured.

Government seeking consultation on Rare Earth Metals and Products

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are currently seeking IOM3 advice regarding the disruptions to the global supplt of rare earth materials and products.

CEng in a Day Workshops

The IOM3 Membership Team will be running a series of CEng In a Day workshops at IOM3 London headquarters during the autumn. The workshop provides a day to focus on the key documents that form the application. The morning session gives guidance on the professional review report and in the afternoon members will prepare the technical presentation.
