Associate Member (AIMMM)

The Associate Member grade can be applied for as a standalone qualification or with registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) from the Engineering Council or as a Registered Scientist (RSci) with the Science Council.

Individuals wishing to apply for IEng AIMMM or AIMMM as a standalone qualification require an accredited Level 6 qualification such as Bachelors' degree or equivalent package of qualifications in a relevant engineering, science or technology subject, coupled with 3 years training and practical experience.

Those who commenced successful Level 5 qualification studies, such as an HND, in a relevant subject before 1999 may apply for this grade and registration as an IEng.

The work of an Associate Member demands a practical approach and detailed understanding of a materials, minerals, mining or other technical discipline covered by IOM3. By virtue of their training, education and experience they are competent to exercise technical judgement and assume personal responsibility for the maintenance and management of existing technology at peak efficiency.
