Aimee is a PhD student, within the Department of Metallurgy and Materials at the University of Birmingham. Her work is based on steels focusing in the Microstructure Development in Quenched and Tempered Steels. The project is funded by the EPRSC and has an industrial link.
Aimee studied for a Forensic Science undergraduate degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. She realised that it was at materials side which she was interested, confirmed by a 3-month summer placement at TATA Steel, Corby. During her undergraduate, Aimee was awarded with the Most Meritorious Student Award for her cohort.
In her spare time, Aimee is a STEM ambassador, encouraging others to pursue any interest in science and regularly attends as a science communicator. She is also a fair weather archer and enjoys visiting new places.
