Technician (TIMMM)

This professional grade can be applied for as a standalone qualification or with registration from the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or with the Science Council as a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech).

TIMMM as a standalone qualification can be awarded to an applicant with a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant engineering, science or technology subject with 4 years training and experience. Those also seeking registration as an EngTech or RSciTech are required to have a Level 3 qualification such as an NVQ, Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma, which may have been gained through an apprenticeship programme, in a relevant engineering, science or technology subject with 4 years training and experience. 

Technician members apply proven techniques and procedures to the solution of practical problems.

Making an application 

Membership Application Form
All applicants are required to submit a completed Professional Grade application form in addition to the documentation detailed in the guide. There are different forms for new and existing members of IOM3 and you must ensure that you complete the correct one.

Referee Form
Applications must be supported by two referees who should have known the applicant for a minimum of 2 years.
