SMEA Celebrity Lecture

Inaugurated in 1992, the SMEA Celebrity Lecture has become an important event in the local calendar.  It is an evening lecture and attracts an audience of approximately 250 people from a very wide variety of engineering backgrounds (University Students to Managing Directors).  The evening starts with an informal reception, and the lecture is followed by a buffet supper.

2017 CELEBRITY LECTURE

The 2017 Celebrity Lecture will be held at The Edge, Endcliffe Village, The University of Sheffield at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 13th June. It will be given by Dr Alan Partridge, Head of Materials Engineering, Rolls Royce and is titled ' Material Challenges - Trent Engines and Beyond.

The Edge bar will be open from 6.00 pm.  The lecture will be followed by a Buffet Supper in the Edge Dining Room.
