Particulate Engineering for Industry 4.0 - From Feedstock to End Use

The Particulate Engineering Committee of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining are pleased to announce this one day seminar on Particulate Engineering for Industry 4.0 - From Feedstock to End Use.

Industry leads, tier suppliers and end users operating in this domain, and embracing Industry 4.0 in their respective territories will deliver presentations covering metallic, polymeric and refractory materials, featuring:

  • approaches to the latest developments in manufacturing (including additive manufacturing and near net shape processes such as HIP and rotational moulding)
  • secondary processing (e.g. heat treatment, machining)
  • production and quality control including non-destructive testing with automation aspects when it comes to making a process more efficient and reliable.

Structural integrity aspects of the produce will be considered when it comes to end user requirements and operating conditions (e.g. high temperature, pressure, aggressive environments).

The forum will also cover European activities and strategy with examples of major collaborative multi-national developments that are underway.

Target Audience

This one day meeting is open to professionals, industrialists, R&D, production, and procurement specialists, quality control, health and safety personnel, as well as entrepreneurs, innovators and investors. It presents a great opportunity to students (both undergraduate and post-graduate) to appreciate the subject and network with a number of organisations from industry and academia in an international medium.
