Starpack gold winner interview: Chloe Rollinson
Starpack talks to Chloe Rollinson, winner of the gold award in the Festival Pack category sponsored by British Polythene Industries.
Hi Chloe, congratulations on collecting a gold award for your festival pack, why did you choose to enter this category?
I entered the festival pack brief because I thought it sounded the most interesting and challenging. It’s different to any projects I've done before and I thought it would fit in well with my portfolio.
Where are you studying and how did you hear about Starpack?
I have just finished my final year at Sheffield Hallam University studying Graphic Design and specialising in packaging. I heard about Starpack through my tutors, they suggested it as I was struggling to find a topic for my final year project.
Can you tell us about your design?
I have created a festival wash pack, the pack itself can then be used as a handheld shower once the contents are removed. I have included items which are useful when having a shower so the pack works together. I wanted to keep the branding fun and humourous to appeal to the target market of young festival goers.

What festival-related problems is your pack designed to solve?
At festivals people often skip showers because of the long queues, this pack makes it possible for more people to shower as they can fill up their pack at the taps and take it back to their campsite and shower there, avoiding any queues. Users can then feel fresh and clean everyday of the festival.
Have you been to a festival?
Yes, I've been to Leeds Festival a few times over the past few years.
Would you like to work in packaging design in the future?
Yes definitely. I have really enjoyed completing packaging briefs in my last few years at uni, which has made me even surer of what I want to do in the future.
