Standardising RFID

Polymer-based RFID tags from German company SiemensPolymer-based RFID tags
from Siemens

An EU-funded project to standardise radio frequency identification (RFID) is seeking stakeholders. The aim is to increase the use and profile of this system.

The CASAGRAS programme will examine global standards and regulatory issues concerning RFID, such as the need for global coding or numbering systems that accommodate existing network technologies. The group will present its findings to the European Commission in the summer of 2009.

Anyone with an interest in RFID and its applications is invited to join the forum.
