Outstanding Service Awards nominations invited

The Institute will present awards for ‘Outstanding Service to the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining’ in 2011 based on nominations made in 2010. These awards recognise achievement and commitment that has not previously been acknowledged elsewhere. The terms of the awards are:

  • The person nominated must have made a significant contribution to the Institute of an outstanding and prolonged nature (normally of at least eight years), usually through an affiliated local society.
  • The nominee must be a member of IOM3.
  • The nominee will not have received another Institute award recognising personal service to the Institute.

The nominations will be judged by the Local Affairs Board on the basis of a complete and factual citation of the contribution to The Institute prepared by the proposing body. The Award, which will comprise a certificate and a year’s free membership, will be presented at a local event within the recipient’s region.

To make a nomination, complete the application form which has been sent to secretaries. The closing date is 13 December 2010.
