Opportunity for early stage researchers

Crucible 2009 provides early-career researchers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) the opportunity to develop new collaborations across disciplines. It is designed to stimulate innovation by bringing together researchers from different disciplines to develop new ideas and explore the potential of their work.

The programme is seeking 30 researchers in STEM, medicine, science policy and social sciences who have a high level of achievement and ongoing commitment to a career in research (within academia or industry).

Crucible aims to help participants discover:

  • how other early to mid-career researchers are tackling the same issues as you
  • how evidence-based policy is made
  • how to communicate with the media and public
  • skills and attitudes likely to make your research more innovative
  • how thinking creatively can make a difference to your work and career.

If you are interested in taking part, complete the online application form before midday on 30 January.
