Manchester Polymer Group @ the 2009 Manchester Science Festival

Manchester Science Festival

Manchester Polymer Group is part of the 2009 Manchester Science Festival which runs from 24 October - 1 November. The programme includes over 150 exciting science, technology, engineering and maths events for families and adults in venues across Greater Manchester.

The group will run a Workshop over two days entitled "Plastics - a valuable resource" with the objective of demonstrating the benefits that plastics can bring to the society of today.

MPG will include a display of samples of several products made from recycled plastic and a supervised demo of moulding new articles from used plastic milk bottles and drinks bottles.

The issue of plastic waste and litter will also be covered by involving the workshop participants in the decisions that they can make to influence this issue.

Manchester Science Festival brings together universities, organisations and key cultural partners from across the region. The Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) is the lead partner for the Manchester Science Festival, which is supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and Siemens.
