Conference on Light Metals
A conference entitled ‘Future Technologies, Applications and
Opportunities for Light Metals’ will take place at Ford College,
Loughborough, UK, on 7 February 2007 as a collaboration between the
Midlands region and the Light Metals Division of the Institute.
The event will showcase some of the latest developments in aluminium,
magnesium and titanium being pioneered by UK academia and industry.
Confirmed speakers include Alison Davenport from the University of
Birmingham, Andrew Fenn of Metalysis Ltd, Rebecca Higginson of
Loughborough University, Dave Rugg from Rolls-Royce, Geoff Scamans
of Innoval Technology and Tim Wilks from Magnesium Elektron. There
will be a poster session with a prize for the best poster in each of the
light metal categories mentioned above.
Sponsors of the conference include Rolls-Royce plc, Luxfer Gas
Cylinders and Innoval Technology. Registration is £50 for IOM3 members,
£25 for student members and £85 for non-members.
