Institute joins Engineering Council at recruitment exhibition

The Institute and Engineering Council will be attending the free National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition (NECR) in Birmingham on 26-27 November.

The exhibition sees the launch of the Professional Development Hub, which will offer advice about  professional development, membership and professional registration. Leading engineering and construction companies will be recruiting at the event, including BAE Systems, Jaguar Land Rover, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and Network Rail.

Visitors will receive guidance on developing their careers and job hunting. Experts at the Careers Advice Lounge will offer personalised advice on how to promote yourself to prospective employers, and one-to-one consultations at the CV Clinic will provide top tips. In addition, group sessions at the Interview Clinic will give practical advice on how to approach an interview and demonstrate the qualities recruiters are looking for.

A variety of presentations will take place, offering information on opportunities at UK engineering and construction companies. They will provide advice on how the application process works and culture in the workplace. The Women in Engineering Forum will offer women at all stages of their career the chance to share experiences, make contacts and hear about vacancies.
