Fellowship programme invites female applicants

A new fellowship programme entitled UK and Ireland Fellowships For Women In Science has opened for female scientists at postdoctoral level. It has been set-up to support promising research in the life or physical sciences.

Four Fellowships will be awarded in 2009 to assist outstanding candidates with their research. Each post is worth £15,000, and is tenable at any UK or Irish university or research institute to support a 12-month period of research. The award can be spent in a number of ways to enable female scientists to further their careers and facilitate worldclass research, such as buying equipment, paying for childcare or funding travel to a conference. The closing date for applications is 8 April 2009.
