Brick-tacular - The UK Brick Awards 2011

Best Craftsmanship Award

The UK Brick Awards 2011 celebrated the best constructions of the year. Held in London on 2 November, the event showcased contributions made by contractors, brickmakers and architects.

Supreme Winner and Best Public Building
Lyric Theatre Belfast, UK

This large-scale theatre holds one corner of a continuous system of brick streets, and has been built to match the surrounding local ‘Belfast brick’. The judges say it is ‘an example of outstanding architectural commitment with beautiful interiors that cleverly link with the street scene’.
