Become a Chartered Environmentalist through IOM3

Steve Pye & Jan CzerskiSteve Pye (left) of Walki and Jan Czerski
are the first IOM3 members to receive
CEnv status from IOM3

The Institute has been granted a licence from the Society for the Environment to award Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status. The Institute welcomes enquiries and applications from members and non-members alike.

David Arthur, Head of Members Services at IOM3, stated, ‘The ability to award CEnv status should be of interest to any professional operating in materials, minerals and mining, where environmental impact and sustainability are becoming increasingly important. Being able to cite CEnv should assist members dealing with customers, suppliers, Government departments and academia in terms of proof of professional competence’.

The Institute has recruited two people who already have CEnv status to assess applications. The first Institute member to receive this prestige award was Steve Pye CSci CEnv FIMMM, Technical Services Manager of Walki, closely followed by Jan Czerski CEng CSci CEnv FIMMM who works with IOM3 on membership and information service activities.

Pye had the full support of his employer and the presentation of his and Czerski’s certificates was made by Arthur and David Ingham, Vice President, Sales and Marketing – Consumer Board for Walki, at the company’s plant near Garstang, Lancashire.

Walki understands the importance of professional recognition in the vital arena of sustainability and the environment, and believes that the new designation will give Pye enhanced credibility with customers, suppliers and within the company. Ingham was supportive of both CEnv and the networks which involvement with IOM3 opens up for Walki.

For further information and to apply for CEnv status, contact the IOM3 Membership Team, tel: +44 (0)1782 221717, or use our online inquiry form.
