Presentation of the Wake Medal
Costantino Creton, currently Professor and Directeur de Recherche at the CNRS, (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), France, presented the eighth Wake Memorial Lecture after receiving the Wake Medal from Dr Gary Critchlow, chair of the Society for Adhesion and Adhesives, at the society’s international conference, ‘Adhesion 11’, held in York from 7-9 September 2011.

The prestigious Wake Medal was presented in recognition of his work in providing a basic and novel understanding of the adhesion of pressure-sensitive adhesives and other soft polymers, including bio-polymers.

Prof. Creton gave a lecture with the title ‘Sticky adhesives: from polymer physics to mechanics of soft materials'.
