Adhesion Society Inc: 2010 Conference and Short Course

The Adhesion Society, founded in 1978, is an international, non-profit, interdisciplinary, professional association, open to scientists, engineers and others whose interests include the broad field of adhesion and all its aspects.

The Society's 33rd AGM and conference is to take place at the Hilton Dayton Oceanfront Resort, 100 N. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA from 21-24 February 2010.

The main topics of the 2010 conference are:

Overarching Themes: Particle Adhesion; Pressure Sensitive Adhesives; Structural Adhesives; Surface Interactions; Contact Mechanics

Special Topics: Bio-Inspired Structures; Adhesion at Small Length Scales; New Crosslinking Chemistries; Sustainability of Adhesives; Advances in Adhesive Joint Design

Emerging Areas: Adhesion in the Marine Environment; Biomedical Adhesion; Adhesion in Energy Applications; Adhesion and Stiction in Active Nanodevices; Interfaces and Adhesion in Flexible Electronics

The Adhesion Society Short Course, "Adhesion Science and Technology", will be held in conjunction with the Conference on 19 and 20 February 2010.

The course provides an introduction and overview to a variety of critically important topics in the field of adhesion.
Unlike other courses, the goal here is not to give comprehensive coverage of the adhesion field, but rather to use the Adhesion Society Annual Meeting to assemble an outstanding group of instructors that would not otherwise be available in a single course. Each subject is presented by a scientist who is a world leader in that area. This gives the attendees the opportunity to learn from and interact with scientists whose expertise provides a unique view into the history, science, and relevance of their topic.

Information on both the conference and the short course is now available on the Adhesion Society Website

The Call for Papers for the conference proper is also available
