Professor Mike Reece, Professor of Functional Ceramics at Queen Mary University of London, UK and Chair of the IOM3 Functional Materials Committee, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Applied Ceramics.
The latest issue of Applied Earth Science is part 2 of the special issue on the geology of iron ore deposits, consisting of papers selected by the editors, Dr Simon Dominy (Snowden Group, UK) and Professor Neil Phillips (Phillipsgold Pty Ltd / University of Melbourne, Australia), from recent AusIMM Iron Ore meetings in Australia. The articles give an overview of industry-focused research in this field.

The 2010 Davidge award was won by Cekdar Vakifahmetoglu for his review on the ‘Fabrication and properties of ceramic 1D nanostructures from preceramic polymers’.
