Scientists and engineers can experience life in the heart of the newsroom by applying for a British Science Association 2012 Media Fellowship.

The ability of small businesses to borrow money is a key to economic growth, particularly in manufacturing and engineering. Government plans are in place to increase lending to businesses, but it is being questioned whether greater credit availability is actually allowing companies to borrow more.

At the AGM of The Member’s Benevolent Trust (MBT) AGM, three new trustees were elected to the Board, together with five re-elected trustees.

A further benefit for Institute Fellows has recently come online in the form of a searchable Fellows’ Directory. Accessed via the Fellows’ Lounge, the Directory provides a list of the Fellows of the Institute with their name, job title and company, business sector and geographical location.

The Institute’s latest online service is IOM3 TV, a facility to deliver video presentations from IOM3 events and lectures via a web-based auditorium.

Dr Scott Drawer, UK Sport and Dr Peter Bonfield, BRE, will present the plenary lectures at the IOM3 Materials Congress 2012 - 'Innovation and Enterprise for Sporting Performance and Infrastructure' in June 2012.
