Register now for the relaunched Starpack Packaging Industry Innovation Awards
For 59 years, the Starpack Awards have been celebrating excellence in packaging. The 2017 Awards have been restructured with a refreshed focus on packaging innovation, design and development.
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and The Packaging Society believe that by making this adjustment to the Starpack Packaging Industry Innovation Awards this year, the winners will not just be the people producing the best looking packs but those that are delivering the best innovation in the packaging industry.
Starpack is open to the whole of the packaging community, from manufacturers, converters, suppliers, processors, packet fillers, brand owners, to end users, packaging designers and marketers.
The categories for this year’s competition will also recognise the fantastic work being done in process development and engineering; be it in the approach to a design challenge, the way materials have been used, the processes developed to create the pack, or the engineering required to assemble, fill and handle the pack.
Registrations for the Starpack Packaging Industry Innovation Award will be open until 31 October 2017. Industry professionals and companies can register their packs under the ‘Business to Business’, ‘Consumer’ and ‘Manufacturing’ award categories. The judges will also consider all entries for the ‘Inclusive Design’, ‘Greenstar Sustainability’, ‘Shooting Star’ and the ‘Packaging Development Team/Person of the Year’ awards. All packs must be on sale and new to the market from January 2016 onwards.
The refined online entry form for the 2017 Starpack Awards will ask for insight into the project brief, clear indication of what is new in the way the pack or process has come about and the recognition of the team that worked on the project. Judges will consider the attractiveness of the pack and the challenges that have been overcome in its creation.
