Scottish Government launches North Sea decommissioning action plan

A plan to help maximise the value of North Sea decommissioning for small to medium-sized firms has been published by the Scottish Government’s economic development agencies.

The Minerals Processing and Extractive Metallurgy division arranged the 2 day conference, “Emerging Trends in Minerals Engineering”, providing a forum for researchers and innovators in the Minerals Engineering field to present their work to an international audience from both academia and industry. The event encompassed the latest research and developments in the fields of minerals processing, extractive metallurgy and process mineralogy.

Decommissioning Roadmap

The newly published Decommissioning Roadmap is the result of extensive collaboration and engagement with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and highlights positive collaboration with a UKCS operator who is currently undertaking a decommissioning project in the Northern North Sea.
