On the 19 May, winners of the prestigious Worldstar Awards gathered in Milan at the Fiera Milano Convention Centre to be presented with their awards.
WorldStar Awards are presented only to those packages that have already won recognition in a national competition, such as the Starpack Awards. They are then compared by a world-class panel of judges to similar packages from around the world. Awards are based on the judges' consensus that a package is superior in its own right, and better in its execution or innovation. In 2015, 265 entries were received from 37 countries.
Tom Schneider, President of the World Packaging Organisation said, “When you win a Worldstar Award you become part of a bigger process and part of pushing the envelope of packaging and that’s what we need to make packaging more valuable to people. Better quality of life, for more people through better packaging is the World Packaging Organisation’s moto. The Worldstar Awards embody that concept”.
The WorldStar Packaging Awards are owned and organised by the World Packaging Organised (WPO). The WorldStar Awards are administered on behalf of WPO by the Institute of Materials and Mining (IOM3).
