Project Manager of Signature Materials, David
Arthur, spoke on BBC Norfolk and BBC Suffolk yesterday as part of programmes on metal theft.

David spoke about the Signature Materials
technology, which engraves metals with full details of the ownership and
location of the material, and can be visually checked by the police, scrap
dealers and border control agencies. All data is stored in a
national database.

He highlighted the benefits of Signature
Materials, noting the traceable technology, but also the visibility to the thief.
Unlike other traceable markings on the market, Signature Materials also acts as
a deterrent.

David said, 'What you want is a clear, visible deterrent
to make the thief think twice'.
