Student Membership Package - Undergraduate

Who is eligible?

This package is open to students (with the exclusion of postgraduates) in all stages of study in Higher Education, eg 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year students. To qualify for student membership you need only be undertaking a full or part-time course towards a Materials, Minerals and Mining related qualification (eg BTEC or degree).

What are the benefits?

For a one-off membership fee of £35 you will receive:

  • up to 5 years' membership (typically 3 or 4 years of your course and the 12 months post course period)
  • free "Materials Matter" CD ROM
  • free monthly Materials World magazine worth £35
  • free CD ROM containing Materials Information Service profiles worth £45
  • reduced rates on conference fees and publications
  • a total saving of over £200

Student Membership Package - Postgraduate

Who is eligible?

This package is open to all postgraduate students - in all stages of study, eg 1st, 2nd or 3rd year students. To qualify for student membership you need only be undertaking a full or part-time postgraduate course towards a Materials, Minerals and Mining related qualification (eg MSc, MPhil, PhD, EngDoc).

What are the benefits?

For an annual membership fee of £25 you will receive:

  • free monthly Materials World magazine worth £35
  • reduced rates on conference fees and publications
  • reduced rates on soft skills seminars and younger members conference fees
  • an annual saving of over £50
