The Packaging Professional May/June 2011

With the middle classes burgeoning in India, the packaging industry, more than ever, has an opportunity to showcase its value in delivering high quality packaged goods, whether it be for convenience foods or high-end luxury cosmetics.

This special issue of The Packaging Professional focuses on India. We put questions to six key packaging suppliers and manufacturers about the market, while Asma Siddiqi of Euromonitor International highlights trends in India’s rapidly changing consumer goods sector, and we examine the cultural, social and climatic factors influencing packaging design. We also speak to Rajiv Dhar, General Secretary of the Aseptic Food Processing & Packaging Association of India. He identifies areas where the Indian packaging industry needs to develop in order to compete globally.
