Clay Technology June/July 2011

This issue looks at a method to determine the physical and mechanical properties of fine-grained soils, and a UK Government review of the ground rules for minerals planning and water abstraction which could threaten the heavy clay industry. Also, David Beardsworth, Technical Director for the British Ceramic Confederation, examines carbon emission regulations in the ceramics industry, while John Sandford, Director of Technical Services for Wienerberger Ltd in Cheadle, UK, traces the changes in clay brick manufacturing over the past 16 years.
