IMM Abstracts

The current awareness bulletin for technical literature in the minerals industry

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining is still publishing IMM Abstracts, the quarterly hard-copy version of the minerals industry database IMMAGE. It provides a useful alternative for those who like to keep up to date with the technical literature in their field by browsing through a printed journal organised by broad subject areas, rather than searching electronically for specific topics.

Now in its 57th year, IMM Abstracts surveys two to three thousand technical articles and conference papers each year as well as books, maps and reports. It covers technical research, development and operating practices in economic geology, mining technology, processing and extraction for metalliferous and industrial minerals worldwide. Each entry includes the title, author and reference of the item plus an informative abstract, often with useful details such as reserve estimates or brief process descriptions. Item selection and abstracting are carried out by experienced and technically qualified staff. A half-yearly index is issued on floppy disc.

The quarterly abstracts bulletin is supported by an excellent photocopy / document delivery service.

IMM Abstracts is published by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining at 1, Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5DB. The annual subscription is £350 (£240 for members) plus airmail postage outside Europe.
