Graham Hollox FIMMM - representing Honorary Fellows & Fellows

Following degrees in Physical Metallurgy at Birmingham University, Graham’s career has involved various industries, covering a variety of products, materials and manufacturing technologies. This has included International Nickel and RHP Bearings in the UK, the aerospace company Martin-Marietta (RIAS) in the USA, Brown Boveri Research Centre in Switzerland, bearing technology at SKF in the Netherlands and later as a Director of SKF & Dormer Tools in the UK. His last full-time appointment before retiring primarily involved automotive components as Manager of Materials and Process Engineering with GKN Technology. He has also held appointments as a Lecturer in Manufacturing Engineering at Cambridge University and Business Development Fellow at Birmingham University. More widely, he has supported EPSRC and BIS groups and the Material KTN's particulate engineering sector and acted as a consultant to various companies.

Previous Institute roles have included President of the BMetA, as well as involvement in Institute conference and membership activities and, way back, the Young Metallurgists.

Graham is delighted at his election as a representative of Fellows of the Institute on Council. His original statement of interests included (a) enhancing IOM3 in strategically important effective technology transfer, and (b) improving the value of IOM3 membership to members, including continual review of the part played by Materials World. He looks forward to representing these matters and welcomes views, suggestions and any input by e-mail.
