Gordon Dunn FIMMM (Profile)

Gordon Dunn

Gordon Dunn is the Mine Manager of Winsford Salt Mine in Cheshire which produces up to 1.3 million tonnes of rocksalt per year to de-ice the roads in winter.

He started his career in the National Coal Board in 1980 as a Student Apprentice and progressed in the coal industry with a variety of roles in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Yorkshire where his last role was the Mine Manager of the Prince of Wales Colliery in Pontefract.

In 2002 Gordon worked for Linde Gas as the National Operations Manager responsible for cylinder filling and distribution for the industrial and medical market. In 2007, he joined Compass Minerals at Winsford Salt Mine and became Mine Manager in 2009.

Gordon works closely with the Institute and is encouraging members of his team and new apprentices to join IOM3. He attended the New Fellows' Lunch in November 2011.
