Nanomaterials in Polymer Applications for the Transport Industry

07 Jul 2010, IOM3, London, UK

A one day roadmapping event with an opportunity for collaboration and to apply for SPARK Award funding through the Materials KTN.

Many polymer applications for the transport industry utilise nanomaterials for improved product performance. Transport is key to the UK economy both in terms of infrastructure and for high value goods manufactured within the industry that can improve the efficiency of transport. The Materials KTN has compiled a Top Ten of Nanomaterials in this area and is holding a one day roadmapping event on 7 July 2010 at IOM3, London, to discuss nanomaterials used in polymer applications in the transport sector and to determine future progress.

As part of the day, The University of Glasgow is offering to financially support applications for proof of concept projects from the sector. These funding awards (run under the highly successful SPARK Awards model) are for up to £5000 and will support research work undertaken at The University of Glasgow.

The day will comprise of a number of presentations from key speakers from the polymer, transport and nanomaterials sectors followed by roadmapping of the sector both in terms of where we are now and where we want to be. We would hope to find, and potentially fund, at least two projects following on from this event.

Who should attend:
Companies and researchers using, or wanting to use, nanomaterials in polymer applications which are targeted at the transport sector.
