EUROCORR 2008 European Corrosion Congress - Managing Corrosion for Sustainability

07 Sep 2008 - 11 Sep 2008, Edinburgh, UK

EUROCORR 2008 is pleased to invite you to the beautiful city of Edinburgh in Eastern Scotland for a conference reflecting the interests of the local petroleum service sector and encapsulating the critical role of corrosion science, technology and engineering in extending the useful life of materials.

The EUROCORR local conference organising committee is pleased to invite you to the beautiful city of Edinburgh in Eastern Scotland for the 2008 European Corrosion Congress. This will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in the Haymarket district only 10 minutes walk from Princess Street and the Castle. The local committee is led by the Institute of Corrosion under the auspices of The UK Corrosion Coordination Group with the welcome assistance of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, NACE UK and the Institute of Metal Finishing. The conference title "Managing Corrosion for Sustainability", has been recycled from last year's UK Corrosion conference! More importantly, it reflects the interests of the key petroleum service sector in the local economy around Aberdeen (just up the road from Edinburgh), a world-leading centre in asset management services. It also encapsulates the critical role of corrosion science, technology and engineering in extending the useful life of materials.

The theme of EUROCORR 2008 is collaboration and synthesis of effort across disciplines. The conference programme will comprise (frequently joint) meetings, sponsored by the various Working Parties of the EFC, together with specially convened symposia and workshops sponsored by the local organising committee. The congress will also be accompanied by a full exhibition at which companies, research institutes and organisations will be showing their products and services. Finally, and most importantly, we will have lots of fun in Edinburgh with a lively social programme for delegates and their guests, including: whiskies, castles, shopping and even golf. We look forward to meeting you all in Edinburgh.

Contributions are welcome in any of the EFC Working Party (WP) areas of interest - see programme.
