Registrations are now open for the Fifth Energy Materials Lecture - Materials for Energy Storage in Electric Vehicles and Low Carbon Grids - Opportunities and Challenges.

Join the Institute’s Energy Materials Group, industry professionals and materials experts on Thursday 14 June 2018 at 297 Euston Road, London, to hear the latest on energy materials.

Professor Nigel Brandon OBE FREng FIMMM, Dean of Engineering at Imperial College London, Director of the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Hub, and Co-Director of the UK Energy Storage Hub, will give the keynote presentation this year.

His lecture will discuss the role of energy storage in low carbon transport and low carbon energy systems with a focus on the material requirements for these applications. Particular attention will be paid to advances and challenges in lithium ion batteries, flow batteries, electrolysers and reversible fuel cells. Brandon’s talk will draw on his own research, which is grounded in these areas.

The Institute welcomes guests for refreshments at 5.30pm. The lecture will commence at 6.00pm.
