Dr Keith Walker CEng MIMMM
Chairman, Steel Divisional Board
Keith Walker grew up in the steel industry in Sheffield and did a BSc and PhD in
Metallurgy at Leeds University, before working for British Steel in
Scunthorpe starting in 1987. Work there focussed on technical aspects of
steelmaking and casting, especially related to product quality control.
Dr Walker achieved professional membership and CEng in 1992. He was appointed head of
technology for finished products for both Scunthorpe and Teesside sites in
1997, and became head of technology for the Construction and Industrial
business unit in 2001. He became Director Programmes in research and
development in 2005, with responsibility across the Corus Group.
