The York Potash Project
Cornish Institute of Engineers Lecture
Mark Wilmot - Chief Mine Planning Engineer, Sirius Minerals Ltd
The York Potash project is a new polyhalite mine located south of Whitby in North Yorkshire. The deposit has a resource od 2.66 billion metric tonnes and the proposed mine is being planned to produce 20 million tonnes per year.
Located in a National Park, the mined polyhalite will be transported 23 miles underground on a high speed conveyor to the materials handling facility thus minimising the environmental impact.
This talk will give an overview and state of play on the project.
