Christmas sales were very good, but the first quarter of 2010 has been very slow - well down on last year - with February 2010 being the lowest sales for about 3 years
Oddly, and unexpectedly, sales to restaurants have held up. It is sales to the general public that have plummeted.
The low value of the £ must have had an effect since it has meant that prices needed to increase at a time when people are seeking a discount/bargain.
I also note increasingly slow payments from business customers...
Our helmets innovation is being picked up in most emerging markets, however sales in Europe are sluggish. There is only so much money in consumers pocket, if he is putting it into his petrol tank then, retail sales are bound to suffer.
