The objective of the STARPACK AWARD SCHEME is to

  • Promote the best practice relative to packaging design, recognising:
  • INNOVATION in design, construction, manufacturing and materials technology.
  • GOOD ENVIRONMENTAL CREDENTIALS relating to material usage, manufacturing and at the end of packaging life cycle, e.g. re-use, recycling or recovery.
  • CHAMPION THE NEEDS of the CONSUMER in relationship to the functionality of packaging throughout its life cycle and minimising product waste.
  • The Schools and Student Starpack competition recognises and promotes packaging design excellence and encourages students to consider careers in packaging

The ANNUAL STARPACK AWARDS are the vehicle which demonstrates, to the greater packaging industry and community, the active engagement of the Packaging Society in pursuing these goals.

Starpack operates its award scheme through the code of conduct of packaging industry peer review and through the professional management of IOM3 to ensure the objectivity and value of its awards recognition.
