Institute of Materials (East Asia) is a professional institution with more than 200 members, and is affiliated to Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (UK). Its mission is to promote knowledge of materials science and engineering. It devotes itself to organizing professional activities such as technical seminars, conferences, training courses. The institute assists and coordinates various research activities, and provide experts' service to the materials industry. IOM3 (East Asia) has become an important player in Singapore in this respect.

The Electronic Applications Division aims to provide a vibrant interface between students and researchers with the electronics-related industries in Singapore and other Asian countries through the professional activities such as workshops, seminars and conferences.
