Scholarships for sixth-formers

If you are in year 12 (lower sixth) and are thinking of perhaps going on to study a materials course at degree level you could apply for a scholarship which provides an award for you in year 13 (upper sixth).

The Armourers and Brasiers Sixth Form Scholarships are open to students currently studying in year 12 (or equivalent) that are thinking of perhaps going on to study a materials-related degree at University.

In September 2010 applications for ten awards of £350 will be opened and these will be presented to the successful candidates in autumn 2011 at the start of year 13.

If one of the sponsored students goes on to study a materials-related course at one of the 11 participating universities* then an additional award of £350 will be made each year for three or four years, to BEng or MEng level.

If you would like to find out more about the Scheme please contact Carolyn Green by phoning 0121 414 5175 or emailing c.a.green@bham.ac.uk.

Further details about the Scholarships can be found on the website of the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers

* The 11 participating universities are Birmingham, Cambridge, Imperial, Leeds, Liverpool, Loughborough, Manchester, Newcastle, Queen Mary (University of London), Sheffield and Swansea (University of Wales).
