The function of the Rolling Committee is to promote the science, technology and practice of metal rolling, both ferrous and non-ferrous and for both flat and long products. Call for papers for Materials Congress

Materials Congress 2010 – Materials for Extreme Environments and Times is inviting papers until 31 March. To be held from 20-23 September in Kuala Lumpur, the technical programme will explore materials and processes that can meet industry and society demand.

Melting moments - rheoformed melt processing technologies

The UK-based Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology has been actively developing rheoforming or melt processing technologies. This technology is used to promote the transformation of liquid alloys into solid products. Components produced from rheoformed technology have an improved mechanical performance and this process could reshape the metallurgical industry.
