I am currently a Materials and Corrosion Engineer based in Shell’s Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in the North West. Stanlow is the UK’s second largest refinery and processes around 12 million tonnes of crude every year.

I completed two placements with Shell (in Aberdeen and Singapore) as well as an industrial placement with Outukumpu Stainless in Rotherham) while studying for an MEng in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

I joined Shell in 2006 where it was strongly recommended that I join the IOM3 with a view to achieving my Chartered Engineering status. I have since benefited from the many opportuni-ties that the institute presents, and have joined the Younger Members Committee with the purpose of forging stronger links between the Institute and graduates in industry.
