Welcome to the Light Metals Division

The Light Metals Division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining was first established and approved by Council in June 2000. The concept behind the Division was to have an organisational arm of the materials community to serve the needs of both the traditional and emerging light metals industries and enabling technologies. Committee members on the Divisional Board are therefore representative of the varying sectors from within industry, university and research centres in the UK. Read our mission statement
