Ken Forsdyke CChem CEng CSci FIMMM - representing Plastics & Rubber discipline
Ken ForsdykeKen L Forsdyke has spent his working life in the polymer industry. He worked initially for BP Chemicals in thermoplastics research, developing novel higher olefin polymers. He then moved to spend several years supporting production processes, initially for styrenics and then for PVC. After a one year secondment as commissioning chemist on a new PVC production plant he returned, briefly, to R & D support for that plant. As a step change he moved to thermosetting polymers, specifically phenolics and worked extensively on the development of phenolics for composites applications and thermal insulation foams as well as heading customer support for traditional uses of these products. In 1990 he started FORTECH, a consultancy practice in composite materials and thermal insulation polymer foams, which remains his current occupation.
KLF was a director of Composites UK Limited for many years before becoming the Company Secretary, a position that he retired from only recently. He is currently head of the UK delegation to CEN TC88 – Thermal Insulation Products.
