Jon Cooper
Jon Cooper has a chair in Bioelectronics and Bioengineering in the Department of Electronics at the University of Glasgow. His work focuses on micro and nano-sensors for the biological and biomedical sciences, work which includes the development of new technologies in spectroscopy, microfluidics and imaging. His work on combining microfluidics with on-chip sensors was central to the success of the UK's DTI-Foresight Lab-on-a-Chip Consortium, and is now being further developed as part of the IRC in Bionanotechology and the IRC in Proteomic Technologies (http://www.rasor.org.uk). He is on the editorial board of Biosensors and Bioelectronics and is Editor in Chief of IEE Proceedings in Nano-Biotechnology. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2001, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2004.
