I have gleaned many a useful factoid from the various trade media sites, but one rich source has been the associated exhibitions that get held. For instance, Caps & Closures in Brussels had/has a site that pointed to many useful facts. In fact many players cite such info on their sites, too. Not perhaps as extensive as some reports you see, but then these run from £1k - $10,000! You may well find there is such a thing for 'Protective Packaging'.
