aluMatter - Offers innovative and interactive multilingual e-learning resources on aluminium technology 

Armourers and Brasiers Company  - Supports materials education through a number of initiatives including scholarships for sixth formers interested in studying materials at university, equipment grants and bursaries for UG and PG students.  They are also keen supporters of a number of courses for teachers and students.  For the latest information on the resources available contact The Clerk.

Earth Science Education Forum (England and Wales) ESEF(EW) - The aim of the Forum is to promote Earth Science in education at all levels and to bring together all relevant organisations to pursuit of this.

Energy University - a free, non-product specific, e-learning website which offers courses on energy efficiency.

Federation of European Minerals Programs (FEMP)

Find a PhD - A searchable database of PhDs available in major universities and institutions in the UK and Ireland. "Already a market leader in Life and Chemical Sciences and fast becoming a major resource in the physical and materials science sector.

Gradcracker - Website dedicated entirely to graduate engineer recruitment and covers all disciplines of engineering.

Halo Training Ltd. International Training Solutions (packaging)

The International Council on Materials Education (ICME) - The Council deals with all aspects of education in the field of Materials Science and Engineering and publishes the Journal of Materials Education (USA).

The MATTER project - Was formed in 1993 to develop and help integrate computer-based learning into mainstream teaching. 

Middlesex Univeristy Teaching Resources - Provides a wide range of teaching resources specifically designed for schools through the Technology Enhancement Programme and Science Enhancement Programme.  They provide samples and information about smart materials and a range of other materials.

The Mineral Products Association  - Has a number of online resources available for schools relating to the quarrying industry.  Resources for KS1 to KS4 are available via a tour of a virtual quarry and resources aimed at 16+ are availalbe at http://www.quarryed.co.uk/

New Engineering Foundation - An independent educational charity that works with key partners and stakeholders to support the advancement of Science, Engineering and Technology education and training int the UK.

The School Science website  - Contains a number of free resources which support the materials aspects of the various science curricula and others which support science in general.  It is free to use.

Science and Engineering Courses and Colleges UK - Features lists of colleges and universities currently recruiting students for science and engineering courses, a collection of articles and a free online application service.

Science Learning Centres  - Provide updates and courses for science teachers on all aspects of science at the National Centre in York and nine other centres around the country.  The Centre in York is also the home of the new National STEM Centre. 

Scottish Earth Science Education Forum SESEF - Is an association of educators and scientists established to promote understanding of planet Earth in Scottish schools and colleges.

STEMNET (Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics Network) - Aims to raise awareness of and promote careers in science, engineering, technology and mathematics by providing a brokerage service between schools and local and national providers of services and resources.  Local STEMpoints are also the point of contact for STEM Ambassadors in that area. 

The Smallpeice Trust - Founded in 1966, The Smallpeice Trust has provided residential courses since the early 1980s to promote engineering as a career to young people.

Steel Matter - British Steel (now part of Corus Group) and MATTER have collaborated on the development of this new series of interactive educational software resources aimed at helping students understand the key concepts and relationships in ferrous metallurgy.

Steeluniversity.org - Comprises a series of advanced and sophisticated educational modules which support traditional teaching and learning practices. Some modules are available in Spanish and Chinese _ produced by International Iron and Steel Institute. http://www.worldsteel.org/

Student Guide to Engineering Information Resource Centres

UK Centre for Materials Education (UKCME) The centre aims to support and promote good and innovative learning and teaching practices as informed by research, in the disciplines related to, and using, materials. Links are provided to related sites for schools and students. The centre is a member of the Learning and Teaching Support Network (LSTN).
