Education and ICTa
ICTa's mission statement states that the Association will provide opportunities for members to broaden their professional outlook and skills.
The Education & Training Trust and Committee directs a variety of activities towards this end as follows:
Qualifications
The Technical Certificate in Clay Building Products has been developed by the International Clay Technology Association (ICTa) in conjunction with Proskills, and is endorsed by The Ceramics Society and The Institute of Materials Minerals & Mining. The qualifications are accredited by PAA\VQ-SET and are available at both Level 2 and 3.
The courses have recently been updated and are being delivered by the IOM3 Training Academy from the Boilerhouse in Grantham. See www.iom3.org/content/clay-technology-qualifications for more details.
These courses are recognised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining under Engineering Council Guidelines. Students gaining the level 3 qualification may be eligible for the TIMMM professional qualification with IOM3 plus Eng Tech registration. Student Sponsorship
In order to encourage undergraduates to take up a career in the clay building products industry, the ICT may provide sponsorship to selected students. Placements with member companies also provides valuable work experience.
Overseas Study Tours
Study the manufacture and marketing of clay building products in other countries.
