Community activities

We hold monthly meetings and our lectures range from renewable energies to mine stabilization. For full details please see our events and programme or contact us.

Our meetings

These are generally held on the first Monday of the month, with lectures commencing at 7.00pm in the William Smith Building, Keele University, Keele, Staffordshire, see our site location plan. We meet in one of the staged lecture theatres and which has the benefit of allowing everyone to see the speaker and see the presentation materials.

Generally our meetings are followed by a buffet supper, sponsored by WIMM or other corporate bodies.Previously Parsons Brinkerhoff Ltd sponsored our April 2010 meeting. The post lecture buffet gives everyone a chance to meet the speaker in a social setting and an opportunity to network both professionally and with other societies.

Council meetings

Council meetings take place prior to each lecture on the first Monday of each month during our season, unless otherwise stated at 6:30pm, subject to agenda items for discussion. All Council members are notified in advance of the time, date and a copy of the Agenda. All Council members are eligible to have items put on the Agenda, or raise concerns from any member or visitor to our WIMM meetings, please notify our Hon. Secretary Christine or President julian Spears prior to the meeting.

Minutes of the meeting are taken by Christine and will be issued prior to the meeting for comment. The minutes are sent out either electronically or by post. Additional copies are available at the meeting, these will also be published on the WIMM website.

Our President Julian, chairs the council meetings. Julian will also make himself available both before and after meetings, should you need his assistance.
